10 Things that can be done anywhere and anytime to Change your life

Most of us have areas of our lives that we want to change or improve in some ways and for some of us it is our whole life that we want to change. Unfortunately there is no fairy godmother that can just appear, wave her magic wand and hey presto give us our new dream life. Change requires focus, commitment as well as consistent and persistent action.

For me I have experienced the greatest and fastest changes in my life when I have applied many techniques to the particular challenge or issue. However, we live in a quick fix society and may not have time for the therapy, workshops and meditation that can help us really change from the inside out. In this post we give an overview of things you can do anywhere or anytime that will help you change your life and will then look at them in greater detail in individual posts over the coming weeks.

Sometimes we become so worried about challenges that we are facing that we can’t see or intuit the solution. Our mind is running ragged and out of control - we are so focused on the problem that we don’t give the mind a chance to bring us a solution. All of these processes allow us to take charge of our mind. By taking charge of our mind, we take back our personal power by putting our mind to work for us, rather than against us. When this happens, the solution can then appear.

The processes are –

  1. Surrendering the situation or issue through acceptance, giving it over to a higher power and having trust and faith that it will be sorted. Also called Letting Go! Read about the Power of Surrender.
  2. Affirmations – stating clearly what we want again and again as if we already have it.
  3. Gratitude – shifting our attention to all the things we are grateful for in our life past and present. Learn about cultivating an attitude of gratitude and appreciation by going to the World Gratitude site.
  4. Calling or visualizing the help of a higher power such as our higher self, angels, the universe, God all that is.
  5. Focusing on our breath. This helps calm and center our mind so that we can gain more insight and clarity to an issue.
  6. Postural Awareness. Changing our posture changes our physiology and so the mind then believes that things are better and we become an energetic match for those things to really show up.
  7. Ho’oponopono which means to make right or rectify an error. You simply repeat ‘I love you, thank you, I am sorry, Please Forgive me, Bless you.’ This is a powerful and easy tool to use anytime and has been shown to not only to change the people using it but those that they focus on.   8. Commitment for it to change. You can choose to commit 100% for it to change by stating. ‘I commit 100% for this issue to change / be resolved and will do what is necessary to achieve this.’ You then need to be open to synchronicities or intuitions about what to do.
  9. Smiling or putting on a happy face on it. This is another tool that changes our physiology and also those around us. Smiling and laughing is infectious and helps us see the lighter side and relaxes us whilst taking our mind off the problem.
  10. Reminding ourselves that we can change it! Think of issues, or challenges in the past that at the time seemed insurmountable but yet now are no longer problems for you. The bigger they were the better. Remind yourself of how difficult they had felt at the time but how eventually you overcame them and got through okay. If you have done it once you can do it again you just need to remind yourself of that.

The issue or challenge that we are currently facing has been created in our past. These tools bring us back into the present moment. When this happens, when we are truly living in the present moment we are back in our own center and in a powerfully aligned state. This has already started to lessen the effect of the problem on our lives and who we are. It is no longer in control, we are. When we are in such a state we have a heightened awareness and will be able to respond with that heightened awareness and take right action to face it, correct it and overcome it thus changing our life.

Effects of Watching Mind Movies – Movies that change your life Days 1 - 3

In my last post we covered how in essence, these free Mind Movies help you to become a ‘sensory match’ for what you desire in your life or wish to change in your life - by mimicking the power and benefits of creative visualization. But is that enough to change your life?

I thought I would try them my self and keep a record of my progress. I downloaded the 6 free movies last week and decided to focus on just two of them. Health and Wealth. Health has been up for me. I have been recovering from a neck injury from a road accident I was involved with in February which effected my yoga practice and also lead to severe migraines. I have spent the last few months taking it easy but now I would like to start getting back into shape. Also like most other people on the planet more money would be useful. So I decided to watch the Health and Money Mind Movies, twice daily to see if would notice a change in my life.

On first watching them, I noticed right away how the upbeat music and images lifted my energy and got me into a positive frame of mind. On day two I was laughing and smiling all day. I have also been much more motivated to exercise - actually I have exercised! I thought I would take things slowly as it is not good to over do exercise when you have been without any for awhile, so I decided walking would be a gentle exercise for me to start off with. I did an hour of walking on each of the first two days of watching the movies. The resistance to physical activity seems to have vanished, which is brilliant.

After 3 days I am still waiting for the cheques in the mail and more money that you are shown in the money video. However health wise things are improving, I exercised again today and am eager to do more. That is definitely a big change for me! Although I live in the UK now, I grew up in more tropical climes and love the warm weather so it has amazed me that I have actually been for walks outside when it is cold and grey! Not only have I gone for a walk in those conditions, but I actually enjoyed it too!

I have also noticed that I have felt compelled to watch the Mind Movies. With some other ‘change your life’ processes that I have tried, it has felt like an up hill struggle to even show up. With these I have noticed a change in my energy and motivation as soon as I put them on. I actually want to watch them and relish watching them which is great. They say it takes 30 days to make a habit become ingrained in your life and automatic. This is because the more consistant something is the easier it is for you to do. If watching these Mind Movies produces other healthy habits, then watching them is one habit I definitely want to keep!

Using Creative Visualization to Change your life..

According to Wikipedia* ‘Creative visualization is the technique of using your imagination to visualize specific behaviors and/or events occurring in one’s life. Advocates suggest creating detailed schemas of what one desires and then visualizing it over and over again.’ The more real you can make the scene you are visualizing the easier it will be for you to attract that desire to you and change your life. This means using as many of our senses as possible to make what we are visualizing, feel like it is really happening. But can using this process change your life?

 

When we are not only seeing imagery, but also feeling an emotion and if possible hearing or touching something that makes that scene seem real, it will produce the same physiology in our bodies as if the experience is real! When this happens we are vibrationally aligned with that thought and desire, in a big way. In this physiological state our whole system is a match for it!  This means our whole system is vibrating with the same quality as it would if the experience was actually happening. Then through the law of ‘like attracts like’ it becomes easier for that desire to be magnetized towards us because we have become the like…

 

Napoleon Hill the famous author stated that ‘Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, he can achieve.’ That’s great but what if we are one of those people who has trouble with visualizing or getting all of the feeling states going at the same time?  Or if we have only a limited amount of time to do it? is there something else we could do where we can get the effect of creative visualization without the struggle?
